#1 Take Magnesium Supplement
Magnesium deficiency can lead to swollen feet, and so taking a supplement can help deal with the problem. Most prenatal supplements contain magnesium as an active ingredient and apart from helping in the development of the fetus it also help pregnant women deal with swollen feet. Taking 200mg of magnesium supplement twice per day will be very helpful when dealing with edema, but pregnant ladies should talk to their doctors before using the supplement.
#2 Change Your Footwear
The shoes that you wear can be the cause of your swollen feet or can make the problem worse. If you have this problem, you should always go for shoes that have enough cushioning and support because they will help to relieve some of the pressure from the feet. Also, you should make sure that you go for something that is roomy enough even if it means going for half a size larger than what you wear. You should aim at drinking a minimum of eight glasses of pure water every day. But you can also add some cucumber or lemon slices to the water for better results. Cucumbers and lemons have some anti-inflammatory properties and so adding them to the water will be more efficient in dealing with the swollen feet.
#6 Elevate Your Feet
Raising your feet after a long and tiring day can be an effective remedy for swollen feet. The inverted gravity encourages the fluid to drain away which in turn reduces or even eliminates the swelling. To elevate the feet, you should lie on a flat surface like a bed or couch and place them over a pillow. Inversion tables are also helpful when you want to elevate the feet, and the good thing is that they also help to alleviate back pain and can also offer relief from other back problems.
