This week’s Foodie Friday Roundup post is about a day’s worth of campfire meals. Even if you aren’t a camper, with a backyard campfire you can create these delicious recipes. Just in the last year, my family has started getting into camping when my oldest son’s cub scout group started hosting family camp outs. The kids love it and are old enough to really get into sleeping in the great outdoors and exploring the woods and fishing. I love being out in nature and my husband loves the planning and setup of camp.

Cool weather will be here again soon and camping will resume so I thought a day’s worth of campfire meals would be fun to put together.
Let’s start with breakfast brought to you by CampingForFoodies (which is a GREAT resource for camping recipes and ideas). I had never thought about using a muffin tin at the campsite but will have to from now on… Check out the Muffin Tin Eggs on the Campfire Recipe. What a great idea!
Now onto lunch… We are usually on the go during the day when camping – exploring, building stick forts, fishing, etc. So having a lunch to run with is important. Who has time to sit down for a meal during the daytime? That’s why I’m showcasing the Hot Ham and Pineapple Campfire Sandwiches created by Amber at DessertNowDinnerLater. Amber is a culinary graduate who shares her recipes, knowledge, and skills and YUM these are some delicious skills! 🙂
To end our day of camping I like to have a tummy filling meal. It helps my kids to sleep good and me too! Being that we are living in Louisiana, I found it fitting to highlight this recipe – Cajun Style Grill Foil Packets from FavFamilyRecipes. Foil packets not only work on a grill but also can work on a campfire as well and be sure to cut the potatoes up really good before cooking because they can take longer than the other ingredients. Checkout the FavFamilyRecipes blog for more delicious ideas!
How fun are those?! I’m not much of a cook so my weekly roundup Foodie Friday is a way I’m learning to broaden my perspective. 🙂 Visit each week for Foodie Friday Roundup for more recipes from around the web.
Are you planning a campfire soon? Don’t forget some handy tools or a firepit!
