Did you know this blog used to be called DownhillRun? Yep, I started it when I was 39 and thought it would be therapeutic to write about reaching the big 4-0. Now, birthdays aren’t so scary any more. I’m actually looking forward to my next birthday which is just two days away and thought it would be fun to post a Foodie Friday Roundup on the subject of Over the Hill Birthday Cakes.
Pinterest is packed full of these fun desserts and here are a couple of my favorites…
I literally Laughed Out Loud with this beaut from Creative Cakes & More, Inc. Yep, pretty much sums things up!
Oh my goodness, this “cake” almost made me pee my pants when I saw it! Get the pun I’m making there? heh heh There are so many funny things about this cake from the sucker to the ointment to the chattering teeth to the perfect touch using a pill organizer!
Here’s another fun cake along the same line as the adult diaper cake above but I like the added twist of the “Mid Life Crisis Pharmacy” and the carefully placed little blue pills. HA!
When the grim reaper is funny… Nice touch with him holding a delicious looking cupcake from cakesdecor.com
Awww look at this sweet cake (and ride).
Enough sappiness, back to the funny stuff! I’ve heard this saying before regarding friendship on this cake. Wise words from ideas.coolest-birthday-cakes.com Wise words.
Getting old can be puzzling like this funny one from cakecentral.com
And my favorite of them all… This terribly funny cake is from LuLu B’s Custom Cakes and Sweets! I laughed so hard at this. The flies are a nice touch!
Getting old isn’t easy but I figure why not have some fun with it. I laughed so hard at these ideas and it just made me happy that I’ve only 2 days for my next birthday. Over the hill isn’t so bad!
