A long long time ago, in a century far away, I graduated high school. Yep, in the late 1900s.
When I graduated high school, I had no clue on what it meant to be out on my own. There were basic things that were understood like I knew that rent would have to be paid and other bills, I would need to eat each day, and I’d probably want some furniture whereever I was going to live. Details, guides, and checklists would have been helpful to have!
Were you ready to be out on your own when you first moved out?
I’m guessing that statistically of the 1 million kids that graduate high school each year only a small percentage are really 100% ready to be out on their own. That’s one of the reasons I wrote this book Simple Steps For Living Life: Out On Your Own. I want to help young adults figure out things like what to expect to be on a lease or how to clean a bathroom.
The book includes 29 printable worksheets like a Sample Meal Plan with Grocery Shopping List or a New Services Checklist…
There are 3 main sections in the book…

Creating this book was a labor of love.
I spent a year from Monday to Friday researching, interviewing, writing. In my heart was the desire to help young adults learn how to navigate adulthood. I also have a desire that this book will help the 20,000+ kids that “age out” of foster care every year.
