Just the relatively simple act of living takes a heavy toll on our body. We’re pushing it to its limit, and, sooner or later, we find that we’re feeling, well, not exactly as we should. Our body can feel too tight, too tired, too old. Some people accept this as a natural part of growing older, but this have to be true. There is no single way that your body should be just because it reaches a certain age. You’re always in control! Below, we take a look at some smart ways to loosen up your body and feel your best.
Avoid Heavy Foods
If you’re continually feeling a little tired, then it’s worthwhile looking at what you’re eating. Not all foods are created equal! Some can be considered heavy, and will slowly moving around your digestive system, while others will give you energy and keep things light. So what should you avoid? A mountain of meat might look appealing, but it’ll take a heavy toll on your body, since it can take a long time to digest. Fish, or veggie options such as lentils and chickpeas, are much better.
And now let’s think about other substances we all too routinely put into our body: alcohol. Sure, it can be nice to kick back and have a beer or other drink, but it’s not going to have you at your energetic best, especially the following day. Now, it’s not just the binge drinking that you should watch out for — it’s often the sustained drinking that’ll do it, even if it’s mild quantities. If you’re consistently drinking alcohol throughout the week, look at taking a break. Your body can do much more when it’s not trying to process the alcohol that’s flowing through its system.
Wake up the Muscles
Your body like spends far too much of its life in just one position. It doesn’t get the range of movements that it needs. If you’re feeling extra tense, then look at visiting a Thai massage shop. This type of massage is noted for its ability to wake up the muscles, due to the stretching process that’s involved. We all carry tension around with us; it’s an unfortunate side effect of living in the modern age. A Thai massage is a quick and enjoyable way to let that tension fade away into thin air.
At the Studio
Another good way to loosen up your body is to take part in a yoga class. This will move your body in ways that it hasn’t moved in some time. It can feel like a bit of a workout, sure, but you’ll be walking as light as a cloud afterward. This won’t just give you a dose of lightness, either — it’ll have long-lasting impacts on your body, too.
Keep on Moving
Finally, remember to keep on moving! Your body will tense up if you’re forever sitting down. Instead, get up and active, and work your body. You’ll find that using energy and movement naturally gives you more mobility.
