Can you believe that summer is almost over? Me neither! What’s one thing you eat that reminds you most of summer? For me, it’s…
One of my best memories of summertime was visiting my grandparents who always had a giant bucket of ice cream and chocolate syrup waiting for me. I’d spend time with them on their screened in porch cooling off with a big bowl. Now it’s always a big treat any time my kids and I go out for ice cream. It’s a simple way to celebrate big and small events. So for the end of summer fun, taking the kids for ice cream is a great idea!

Remember several weekends ago when I got to go to BlogHer17? Carvel was there sharing their delicious ice cream! Did you see this post about it on my Instagram feed? Carvel is famous for their cakes available only in grocery stores but did you know about the Carvel express locations in select Auntie Anne’s? The local Auntie Anne’s here has a Carvel Express so I had to try it out!
There are many different choices of ice cream treats to try out like the classic sundae, soft served ice cream, Carvelanches (ice cream blended with toppings), thick shacks, and novelties & treats. Do you have a favorite ice cream treat? Mine is always the chocolate sundae and the Carvel ice cream was delicious…
That was a yummy treat to top off the end of summer. And soft serve ice cream isn’t the only thing you can get at a Carvel Express… See?
Not all items are available at all locations so check for the Carvel Express nearest you here. Click <that link for where you also can find grocery locations that sell Carvel ice cream cakes and ice cream novelties. Carvel ice cream cakes are special treats for any dessert! The company has been in business since 1929 when the founder, Tom Carvel, started selling ice cream from his vending truck. Seven years later in 1936, he patented a “no air pump” super-low temperature ice cream and along the way also started selling ice cream cake. 88 years later Carvel is still serving deliciousness!
Here’s a sampling of ice cream cakes you can purchase by Carvel available only in grocery stores –
All of these ice cream cakes look amazing – right?
What if I told you Carvel has a brand new ice cream cake available only in grocery stores??? Ok, I know, I’m excited too! Because not only is it an ice cream cake but also has a cookie! Yep!
Tah dah… the Carvel Ice Cream Cookie Cake available only in grocery stores!
Do you like ice cream sandwiches? Then a giant ice cream cookie cake is definitely a treat you will love! It can also be personalized for your occasion like a back to school bash and serves up to 12 people. Or serves one of me since I usually hide ice cream cakes behind other stuff in the freezer (Shhhh! Don’t tell my diet about this either! LOL).
Whether you wrap up your summer by taking everyone for ice cream or picking up a Carvel ice cream cookie cake, it’ll be a cherry on top kind of sweet ending!
