It’s the last Thursday of 2018 and the last chance for a Thankful Thursday 2018 post!
Isn’t it crazy that there are only 4 days left of 2018?! I’d like to end this year on my blog with some uplifting and fun posts like the Monster Mart we discovered this year or vacationing in Dallas posts. It’s been such a busy year for our family.
My husband started a new job in January. We traveled to see him a lot at the home base for his work when he wasn’t able to make it home. My niece was married in June which took up May and June. We were gone all but 3 weeks of this summer. We went on vacation over Thanksgiving. This is not to mention all of the school events and fun. And now here we are at the end of December slowing down like we are past the finish line soaked with water from the bottles that were thrust into our hands along the way. Whhheeessheewww!
I’m so thankful for so many things that have happened this year.
My kids have grown so much this year and not just physically. They have grown in knowledge and emotionally. They have grown in being gracious but also in being protective of each other… even if they clobber each other all the time! LOL
I’m so thankful for time with friends and family. For solidifying friendships and living on my little street with my neighbors. Our street is the best in the world for my kids at this point in their lives. Kids ride bikes, play outside, and have a blast being with each other. We couldn’t live on a better street right now for my family as our little cul-de-sac has about 12 kids that ride the elementary school bus. There’s always someone to play with! Plus, I love all the mamas and get along with them all. So us moms have fun too!
I’m thankful for bills being paid and having funds to be able to afford a much needed surgery. My doctor was so excited to work on my case that she even took a photo in surgery of how separated my stomach muscles were plus the hernia. It was so great to have this fixed finally plus get a mommy makeover while I was having the surgery. Being able to stand up and not feel like my insides are hanging out is such a GREAT feeling! Plus, I got a nip tuck and lift so my self esteem is the best it’s ever been in my life. I’m so thankful to feel so much better both mentally and emotionally!
I’m also thankful to have the time I have with my kids. We have really gotten into playing board games at night and when I’m not too exhausted reading a bedtime story. I love to hear about their day or what is interesting to them or things they enjoy watching or anything that makes them happy.
I’m thankful for having time to work on my artwork this year. It took me a long time but I finished this collage from a photo of my husband in basic training. I used over 50+ gun magazines to create it. This is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever done because it honors my husband, soldiers, and the brotherhood that is the military.
I’m thankful for spending the end of the year with my in-laws and family for a couple days each. It has been nice to see everyone. To just chill out and to eat lots of delicious cookies.
Lastly, or more like most importantly, I’m thankful for God loving me. I’m thankful that He never leaves me or forsakes me even when I turn my back on Him. Praise God for forgiveness. Praise God for true love. Praise God for this blessed year.
