Say it ain’t so? Ooo but it is!
Do you love pizza? I do. It’s delicious and can be a really cheap meal for a family of 5. We eat Little Caesars $5 pizzas at least once a week at our house. How else can I feed 5 people for only $5 without having to do the cooking?!
And while I really like Little Caesars, it’s still not like the pizza 🍕 I’ve eaten while visiting family in New Jersey or stopping over into NYC. There’s just something about a first generation Italian’s food that is hard to beat(shout out to Joey’s restaurant that used to be in Kinnelon).
So while we’re in Cowtown, we’re trying out local, walkable to resturants. That’s how we ended up last night at Ft Worth Pizzeria on Bledsoe Street. It’s part of the West 7th Street Entertainment District. It’s a lively scene on the weekends but during the week, we brought our kids and we’re the only people there. Also most of the party crowd doesn’t show up until around 10 on weeknights.
Ok, so back to the main course… Pun intended. We had all 10″ pizzas – one cheese, one pepperoni, and one specialty the All American. They were all delicious. The cheese was as stringy as silly spray just like New York pizza. The crust was perfect – not too crunchy, not to soggy but flexible enough I could have folded it over.
The taste was perfect. The sauce, crust, and toppings were just right. No one thing overpowered the other which is hard to do making a pizza.
Ok, enough about the pizza, the venue is fun too with an old school Ms Pacman table type arcade game, two Jenga sets, a bar, TVs, and plenty of space to hang out.
I give this pizzeria two cheese covered thumbs up!
