YIKES! It’s been over 2 years since a Thankful Thursdays has been posted on SimpleStepsForLivingLife. It’s not like I haven’t been appreciative of everything but geeze! This is a definite reason to pause for reflection on my life.
What has happened in the last 2 years?
Around March of 2018 (last Thankful Thursday post) was when my husband’s contract job was coming to an end and he immediately was picked up by an contract engineering company. He had other offers but they were much further from family so we stuck with this choice which moved us to NW Louisiana. We spent months waiting for a bank response on a foreclosure home and a week before school started we moved into the new to us house and the new to us state.
Louisiana has been a dream come true for me. I’m so Thankful for getting to move here. I don’t know how long we’ll get to stay but am hopeful it’ll be a while. Since I was a young girl, my parents drove us to the Gulf from Arkansas just about every other year and we always had a stop over in New Orleans for a day visit. Because of that, I dreamed of living in this state and getting to eat delicious food and being immersed in the slow down like molasses culture.I’m so thankful this dream has come true.
I’m thankful for God’s unrelenting grip on my heart.
I’m so thankful that even when I go off the deep end, have a mouth of a sailor, fade from time being with Him, and going coocoo – God still loves me. He brings me through the good and bad no matter what. This last year was a doozey. Last January, the engr firm laid off my husband because some of their business contracts didn’t come through like they thought. Plus, he was really over qualified for what they hired him for (he’s a bad a** and all – I’m a bit proud of him). So 2017 was a crazy year of me going back to work, him starting a business MageeDigital, me starting to paint again(scroll through my IG account), kids going to LR with daddy while he built a CNC router for many weeks/days at a time in the summer, and more. Now this January he is back with a company he worked for years ago and really is enjoying reconnecting with a bunch of long time friends. I am too. I’m thankful that God brought us through last year. I’m thankful for our parents and family for helping us out and believing in us. I’m thankful that my husband is enjoying his new job. I’m thankful that I’m back as a stay-at-home-mom and getting to start work on SimpleStepsForLivingLife again. I’m thankful for my husband, my kids, but most importantly how God loves me.
What are you thankful for today?
