Is it Christmas Eve already?! I’m enjoying watching the sounds of my kids and my neighbor’s kids watching videos and playing. Last night while “Santa” was getting the last of the presents, the kids and I drove around our little town looking at Christmas lights. We had such a big time looking at all the decorations celebrating this time of year!
I’m so thankful for where we are getting to live right now. I’m thankful for being able to praise God for His Son Jesus without fear of being persecuted. I’m thankful for my family that was willing to come here to celebrate Christmas (and my mom’s birthday) this week so I wouldn’t have to miss out. I’m thankful that my back is healing and I’m able to more and more with each day. I’m thankful for getting to live in the United States and the freedom we have here. I’m thankful that my children are healthy, learning, curious about life, they laugh freely, and are just so cute!
I’m thankful for God’s love. I’m thankful that He loved the whole world so much to send His Only Son. I’m thankful for this time of year to remember how Jesus came to earth… in the form of a little baby… born in a stable… angels announcing His arrival to forgotten shepherds watching their flocks… a lowly beginning marked in the heavens with a star that was distinct enough that the wisemen could be led to Him… Amazing!
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told. Luke 2:16-20 NIV
