Conferences can be exciting, informative, overwhelming, and most of all uplifting. This week I’ll be heading to BlogHer17 – the world’s largest conference for women creatives.
THE. WORLD’S. LARGEST.
Several weeks ago, a surprise email landed in my inbox. In it the spokesperson for BlogHer17 said they had a couple of tickets available for the conference and offered one to me and one for me to gift to a bloggy friend. Yes, a FREE ticket that is usually $400. EEEEEE!!! (PS Shout out to my blogging friend SincerelyJacqueline – can’t wait to “meet” in person!) Let me tell you, I’ve been riding a happy wave ever since! I’m so excited to get to go to the conference and there’s no way I could have without this generous gift. (PS They didn’t ask me to write this post; I’m just writing it because I’m sooo excited and I want to say THANK YOU!)
What exactly is BlogHer17?
BlogHer is an “exhilarating mix of content creators, social media stars, entrepreneurs, top brands, activists and fans.” There are keynote speakers like Serena Williams(YES! The tennis superstar SERENA WILLIAMS), breakout sessions to learn the latest, and opportunities to network with my peeps. My peeps? Yes, those content creators, blog businesswomen, boss girls, and people who really get the nitty-gritty of running a blog and social media channels.
I CAN’T WAIT!
Another great thing about the BlogHer conference are the sponsors. If it weren’t for the sponsors, then the tickets would have been crazy expensive and I definitely wouldn’t have been offered one so that I could come. There are sessions during the conference that certain sponsors are hosting and I’m so so so thankful that somehow I hit the refresh button at the right time when the signups went live and will get to go to the event hosted by Bayer(yes, the giant company that makes medical and also agricultural innovations among other things!). And something else about going to an event like this is that some sponsors are willing to set up time to talk about their ambassador programs like Purell which I’m hoping after our meeting they check the proverbial box that says “I Like You.”
There’s no better way to form partnerships with brands than meeting face-to-face and seeing how your blog can help your readers by informing them of pertinent brands and helping said brands get their name out there! There are several sponsoring brands below that I had never heard of until signing up for this conference like EndoMEtriosis which brings awareness to endometriosis and how it affects 1 out of 10 women. Or the new film about mental health that will be screened by conference attendees called Beyond Silence.
I want to bring you, my dear reader, information that can help you with saving time, money, and sanity. I have a good feeling I’m going to have lots to talk about in the months to come to help you by attending this conference. Stay tuned as I’ll be crazy posting on my blog, facebook live, and tweeting like a canary on crack.
In the meantime, check out all these sponsors for the conference. Are there any you don’t recognize?
