Spray N Wash no more? Ok technically, it’s called Resolve the clothing cleaning artist formally known as Spray N Wash(yes, this is a far fetched pun related to the artist formallly known as Prince). Still the same great stuff that I’ve been using for 20 years prior to the big shake up buyout and name change in 2009. Alas, even if the Spray N Wash formula didn’t chang, somehow my loyalty did and with a cheaper price I’m using Shout now which works just as good. Ok, I seriously digressed huh?
So what’s so special about spray stain remover? IT CAN HELP TAKE OUT SILLY PUTTY FROM A QUILT. That’s right folks! You read that here at SimpleStepsForLivingLife. In December my parents were helping us after my back surgery for about a week. Around that same time my oldest had gotten some silly putty and somehow ended up falling asleep with it at the foot of his bed. Sometimes, he’s a toss and turning kind of sleeper, and boy did that putty get all over the place!
At first we tried pulling off the putty, scraping off the sticky mess, and ended up with a couple stains where the putty had become one with the fibers. Grrr. Then my mom had a great idea! (Of course she did, this woman was a chemist at a shirt manufacturing facility back in the day). She flipped the quilt over and ran water through it to no avail. But wait, then she took the stain remover and put the spray nozzle right up against the back of the fabric and eventually, the putty started breaking up and came out!
So if you ever have some silly annoying putty stuck on a quilt or other fabric, try this out.
