If you’re a morning person, then you don’t need to really read this unless you want to make your mornings smoother. To you, getting up in the morning is so very simple, and starting the day is something that contains hardly any trouble or strife. You’re probably able to hop up out of bed shortly after the alarm and don’t feel like you’ve just been hit by a truck – good for you. You officially have magical powers in my book! LOL
We’re not all like that though. Hand raise if you’re a night owl like me! The actual statistics are unclear, but there is a majority of people absolutely detest that morning feeling – especially on days where they have lots of things ahead of them.
The good thing is that it’s something that CAN be worked on. A morning person isn’t a morning person because they were born that way – they are a morning person due to habit and conditioning. If you’re all over the place every single morning, then there is something you can do about it. You can actively take steps to ensure your body and mind are in the right place shortly after that horrible ringing alarm goes off and ruins your dream with no need to destroy your alarm clock!

Create An Actual Routine
Routines aren’t for everyone. Some people get the idea that routines can put them into a comfort zone that they’ll then struggle to escape from. They do help people get into a systematic and productive way of working, however, and if you’re looking to get up and feel good in the morning, then a routine would do you good. They allow you to have a little plan for yourself each day. It’s when you don’t follow the plan that you’ll start to feel a little off – so it gives you the motivation to actually bother.
Go To Bed Earlier, Perhaps?
This is an easy idea, but one that we all seem to struggle with these days – well, the majority of us, anyway. Thanks to our phones and other distractions, we struggle to close our eyes and go to the land of nod. Who here has binge watched Netflix? Be a little more disciplined and get some shut-eye at a sooner time. It might seem boring or impossible, but it’ll be good for you in the long-run and help to make your mornings smoother.
Brave The First Few Mornings!
When you start looking to improve your mornings, the transition can be so horrible! You wake up and feel terrible – sure, you’ll get up and feel a little better, but that initial step is so difficult to get your head around. If you go to sleep a little earlier the night before, you’ll obviously have an easier time getting up. Get those initial days out of the way first though, and your body will get used to it all.

Coffee!
This might be something you do anyway to make your mornings smoother. If you don’t, then it’s something to think about. Coffee wakes a person up very quickly due to the caffeine. I’ve recently cut down on my soda consumption and so coffee is something I look forward to in the mornings. Some are more than just a light drink – for instance, Bones Coffee says it’s an experience and not just a delightful taste for a few minutes!
Drink Lots Of Water In General!
You’re usually dehydrated when you wake up in the morning. If you don’t drink that much water during the day, then you’ll be even more so. Frequently wake up with a headache? Well, that’ll be why! Get some proper fluids in you!

Eat an Apple
Because of the natural sugars in apples, they can give you a jolt of energy in the morning. Plus, there is an added benefit of vitamins. Apples are a great way to get in a small breakfast if you feel like you don’t have time to eat usually in the morning.
Keep Your Phone Away From Your Bedside!
It’s very easy to keep your phone beside you in this day and age as we’re so addicted to the things. As soon as we wake, we hop onto them and check our social media feeds – well, the majority of us do! Put it on the other side of the room. Want to go on your phone in the morning? Well, then you’ll have to stand up and get it. Because of this, you’ll be up and more awake than if it was on your bedside table.
Have Something To Really Get Up For
This point is a little deeper and one that might perhaps take a little longer for you to do. It’s probably not something that you can instantly solve, but it’s something to definitely work towards. When you don’t have anything to look forward too, it becomes easier to stay in bed. If you want something, you’ll go and get it – it’s just what we do. Whether it’s a workout or some kind of exercise, or a project that makes money, you might want to get involved in it. It could boost your brain and get you up in the mornings a lot smoother.
Mornings don’t have to be bane of your day. Looking forward to starting your day can happen if you make your mornings smoother. Plus, there is no need of smacking your alarm clock across the room every day! Follow the above tips and over time you could adopt this habit which could help with better exercise, eating better, and getting more sleep.
