This summer I’ll be decorating our place with a patriotic theme starting with this festive Patriotic wreath –
All sorts of patriotic holidays are coming up: Memorial Day at the end of May, Flag Day in June, 4th of July, and Labor Day at the beginning of September. Whew! That’s a bunch of patriotic fun coming up! To kick off my decorations, I’ll be using this wreath that my sister taught me how to make.
First the supply list –
A wire wreath form
Three rolls of ribbon(5″ wide) – one blue with stars and two with red stripes
Wire cutters (we only had scissors initially to use)
Now time to attached the blue ribbon to the inside wire of the wreath frame. First, at the midway point of the wire wrap it around the ribbon 1-2 inches from the end of the ribbon. Twist the two end of the wire a couple times to make sure it stays in place.
Now attached this to one of the cross wire and the internal wires of the frame.
Now time to bunch up the ribbon and attach that to the wire frame. Do this until a fourth of the wire frame is covered in the inside… Then repeat again on the outside of the wire frame so there are two rows.
Now it’s ready for the two rows of the red striped ribbon for the remaining 3/4 of the wire frame.
Now after all those pieces of wire and rolls of ribbon… VIOLA! you have a patriotic wreath ready to adorn your front door all summer long!
These steps could also be used for making just about any type of ribbon wreath! I’m excited to hang my Patriotic Wreath and start decorating for the summer holidays. Are you decorating especially for summer? I’d love to hear about it! Please comment below so we can connect! 🙂
