Are you looking for a beautiful beach to visit? We all need a break about now and Pensacola Beach is the place!
My family made an epic Northwest Louisiana to central Florida road trip. We needed a halfway point so Pensacola Beach was a great stopping point. The Hilton Pensacola Beach Hotel has everything a beach resort needs – beautiful views from large balconies, kitchenettes, resort sized and styled pool with poolside bar, indoor heated pool, gym, and more! And you know how I love artwork… this hotel has so many hints of art throughout. My favorite was this mural using the building architecture for a playful art piece.
Because January is the off season we got an incredible deal on the 2 queen beds junior suite with bunk beds and a gulf view! It was perfect for our large family of 5. There were two queen sized beds, a twin bunk bed, and a pull-out couch. The bunk bed was in an alcove just off the front door so it seemed like it was in a separate space than the two beds. The oversized bathroom separated the sleeping area from the sitting area. The sitting area had the kitchenette on one end and on the other end were sliding doors to the balcony looking out over the pool and the beach beyond that. The room we stayed in also had two closets, in room safe, small refrigerator, and other kitchenette type items.
It was really cold in January when we were there, but if we had gone the week before the temperatures would have been in the 70s. Still would have been a little chilly but a bit more tolerable for my kids who were determined to take a dip in the pool. Then after they got out of the pool they decided to hop in the hot tub and try to knock of some icicles. LOL just kidding! They were cold enough that their lips turn a little blue though and I had to herd them back inside.
The next morning, the Hilton Pensacola Beach Hotel served up the best breakfast buffet of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at! The staff was so accommodating and helpful. The atmosphere was a subtle nod here and there to being in a beach side resort.
There were three main buffets. The cold foods buffet had things like fruit slices, yogurts, and other cold item treats. The pastry buffet was packed full of things like baked cranberry muffins, other muffins, donuts, and specialty pastries. (I had a OH-SO-GOOD cranberry muffin in a cool little cup.) The hot buffet had 8+ different large warmer pans with things like bacon, egg, sausage, ham, and specialty dishes. Then there was a bagel section, waffle makers(one with 4 tiny waffles to make at a time), toast, cereal, oatmeal, and more.
I’ve traveled to lots of places. I’ve stayed in many beautiful hotels from the boutiques in Greek islands to the Kahala Resort in Hawaii. Never, ever, ever have I enjoyed a breakfast buffet like the one at the Hilton Pensacola Beach. DELICIOUS!
Before checkout, we all went to the beach to dip our toes in the sand. This was a short walk through the pool area. Being windy and cold during our one-night stay didn’t deter us or many other people visiting the beach. It was beautiful and hearing the waves reach the shore was such a peaceful soundtrack to have playing in my head.
I’m hoping we can visit Pensacola again this summer and stay at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Hotel. We need a beach break this year with no agendas or pressure. If you are planning to stay in Pensacola, I highly recommend it!
Let me know in the comments below the best (or worst) breakfast buffet you’ve ever had.
