How much stress could you eliminate from your life?
While we can’t control the curveballs that life likes to throw our way, a lot of the daily anxieties that we find ourselves getting wrapped up in, we can actually be proactive about. Create A Night Before Routine
In an ideal world, you’d wake up rested, dedicate some time to self-care, and arrive at work in plenty of time, ready for a productive day. But how often does that actually happen? Mornings can actually be one of the most stress-filled times for many of us, especially if you have kids to get ready. So could you make your life easier by pledging half an hour to prepare the night before? Laying out the clothes you want to wear, making sure everything is pressed and you know what shoes to put with it takes the guesswork out of mornings. Get your bag, keys, and if you have kids, anything they need ready and set them by the door. Pre-prepare a healthy breakfast like a green smoothie mix you can keep in the fridge, delicious overnight oats, or a savory breakfast bar you can bake at the weekend. Then take your time to unwind. Read a chapter of a good book, ban electronics from the bedroom and invest in some top quality bed linen to ensure that you’re well rested and good to go.
Kick Bad Habits To The Curb
Sometimes a habit can spiral before we realize it, and something that seemed harmless gets to the point where it takes over in a negative way. If you’re aware that some of your habits are beginning to affect your quality of life, then be honest with yourself about addressing them. Is it a case of cutting back a little more? Does it run deeper, to the point where you might need to consider treatment for addiction? Taking the time to step back and be honest with yourself can pay dividends,and learning to control a bad habit can be a huge self-confidence boost which can leave you feeling really empowered.
Re-Evaluate Toxic Relationships
Sometimes there are people in our lives who just drain us – and it’s no fault of our own. If you find yourself at the receiving end of a lot of stress due to a certain figure in your life, it could be time to re-evaluate if they should have any part of it. Cutting ties with people who don’t wish you the best is intensely liberating. Or just not following people on social media that continually have negativity can be a great thing to do. Although it can be a difficult decision to make, ultimately it gives you more time and energy to focus on the right people around you.
These are just some ways to reduce stress. One of the best ways to reduce stress is figuring out what is the underlying cause. Once you figure this out, that’s one more thing to eliminate or learn to cope with. Most importantly is to seek out professional help.
