Last fall, I decided to get serious about SimpleStepsForLivingLife.com.
My youngest will be going to Kindergarten this fall and I needed to find an income stream so that I could justify staying home while all the kids are in school. I like the idea of being able to go up to the school any time I want for any school functions that are happening, and I have dreams of being able to vacation anytime(and anywhere) without having to ask for a week off of work or updating my kitchen with these cool kitchen ideas.
Having this blog hasn’t gotten to the point where I can afford to do that quite yet but I am making about $50-100 per month at this point but I’m like the Little Engine That Could and I won’t give up! Lots of friends, and strangers, have asked me how I make money from having a website all my own. There are many many ways that I will go over in a future article, but what I have made the most from so far are sponsored posts and affiliate sales.
Sponsored posts means a company or brand is hoping to get their name out there and pay me to review a product and write about it. I never take on a company I don’t believe in and only items I think not only would be useful for me but also for my readers. Sponsored posts are hard to come by and although I am part of several groups that match brands with writers, but I still don’t get to do these as often as I would like.
Affiliate sales are the other half of the blogging pie for me so far. What happens with affiliate sales is that I post about a particular product or book or something else I enjoy or find useful. I include an affiliate link with that product in the article. If someone clicks on the link and makes a purchase, I will get a percentage of the sale at no cost to my readers. If they had clicked to the product on their own instead of my link, they will still be paying the same amount.
One of the new affiliate sales I’ve joined up with is for the Ultimate Bundles group. Have you heard of them?
Ultimate Bundles are groups of resources like eBooks, printables, binders, eCourses and more from groups of bloggers. Some of the bundles have 50+ resources and sell for up to 90-95% of the cost if the items were all purchased separately. I purchased the Ultimate Bundle’s Genius Blogger’s Toolkit last fall because it included one eBook I was planning to purchase for the same price as the entire bundle so why not?! I got around 30+ or more other resources I wouldn’t have gotten otherwise for the same price as the one product I had been thinking about purchasing anyway. The different Bundles are generally offered only once a year and only for about 1 week each year except for the Conquer Your Clutter Super Bundle and the Gut Health Super Bundle.
It is tempting to purchase every single bundle that comes out and being an affiliate means a discount on one bundle purchase per release which is a huge bonus!!! Being an affiliate also means support – lots of it! There is a facebook group, special webinar training on educating your audience about the resources in each bundle, links and tools for each launch, graphics and a support team to help.
If you are a blogger looking for another revenue stream then the Ultimate Bundle group is a great way to go. Plus, when other bloggers sign up under you, a small percentage of their sales will be going to you as well! Soooo guess what… If you are looking for an affiliate program that includes training, helps you with informing your readers with what the Ultimate Bundles could help them with, helps with graphics, and more, then this is a great program to join!
Let me know if you have any questions and if you are interested in promoting a great product like the Ultimate Bundles!
