Right now, I’m participating in the Writing for 31 Days challenge under Simplify and Organize. Come back each day for more simplifying and organizing ideas. Here’s some of my posts so far…
With 5 people squeezed into a 1350 square foot house, I’m all for discovering spaces to use as double purpose. One of my favorite overlooked spots are the backs of doors – cabinet, wall, hutches, etc. This post is all about backs of doors on the kitchen cabinets.
I put a bunch of spices and baking items up in a top cabinet and noticed after a couple months that I wasn’t using any of my cooking stuff. So when we started going through our storage unit, these little racks resurfaced that were leftovers from our old house that never got used. Soooo tah dah!
The other spices when on two shelves that went on the back of a lower cabinet door beside the stove(so handy!)
And the last rack I found went on the back of a cabinet door under the sink. I have to get the smaller packaged dishwashing liquid but still works. Now I have room under there to get my box of vases out of storage… yahoo!!!
These storage racks were purchase years ago so I’ve been looking through Amazon for something kind of like them. I thought this was a cool idea since I have a strange love for the back of door shoe organizers…
I also found this. It’s more like what I’m using but a bit of an upgrade. 🙂 If you clink on the picture it’ll take you to the item on Amazon…
Do you use the back of the cabinet doors for extra storage? How do you use your space to squeeze more room out of it?
