I haven’t participated in a Thankful Thursday in so long and am so happy to post all sorts of things I’m thankful for today. Plus, I’m linking up with Pink Lady’s Monthly Musings that has some question prompts each month. This months it’s all about vacations and staycations. Click on the photo below if you wanna join. 🙂
First, though, I have to say just some of the things I’m thankful for lately…
My family is healthy (with the occasional puking or fever LOL). My husband has a stable job and I make a little bit off of this blog to help. We are signed up for online school that we started during the spring semester school shutdown so I’m thankful that we are somewhat familiar with how the online school works already and shouldn’t be as hard to transition back into school. My artwork This One Is Mine (soldier artwork) has been accepted into the National Vietnam War Museum‘s permanent collection. Their grand opening for the new building is November 14, 2020. I’m so excited and honored. I’m thankful for my friend who is speaking out with a group of women that will help other women that have faced trauma; she is an inspiration. I’m thankful for free speech and for being able to worship freely(I don’t live in California thankfully where singing in church is banned right now). Thankful for delicious and abundance of food available in grocery stores. And I know I say this a couple times in my thankful Thursday posts but I’m thankful for indoor plumbing and clean drinking water. I’m sooo thankful for this modern marvel!
Now on to the fun Monthly Musings…. 🙂 Here are my answers –
1. Top 5 Items Your Pack When Headed on Vacation:
Deodorant, phone charger, hair straightener, sunscreen, vitamins
2. Packing Cubes? Yes or No?
No, but would love to use these. I just haven’t invested in them yet. I’d actually like to use these in our dressers/closets because it could make putting away clothes so much easier.
3. Do you prefer Warm or Cold destinations?
WARM! Bring on the beach baby!
4. Favorite Vacation Location of All Time?
Island hopping Greece. The island Milos had the coolest and most diverse types of beaches ever. Was so amazing! Hoping to take our kids someday.
5. Given our state of affairs, what are some of your staycation ideas?
We love going hiking in local parks and visiting local lakes. Going out into nature is a great way to relax and connect with family. Also going to the local water park has been fun and right now lots of places are offering discounts.
6. Camping? Glamping? or No Way?
We love camping but haven’t been in a while. I would love to be glamping full time in a renovated 37′ Airstream but my family of 5 isn’t on board yet. 🙂 Plus, we need to win the lotto or find a homesteading spot to park when we don’t feel like traveling.
7. How many states have you been to?
34 WOW! I haven’t thought about that in a long time.
8. Have you ever traveled by RV?
When I was really little my parents and my mom’s brother’s family rented an RV and the A/C went out. I don’t remember it at all but my mom said it was soooo hot!
9. Most random place you have been to?
Uranus, Missouri It was so bizarre and hilarious.
10. What is the first place you are traveling to when the Pandemic is over?
My daughter is vying for Hawaii but our wallet is looking more like Silver Dollar City. 🙂 Both would be super fun.
What are you thankful for today? I love to hear about positive things that are going on during these crazy times. Let me know in the comments below!
