Are you ready for summer? The longer, warmer days are a treat that many people look forward to, but not if you don’t feel at your best. From how you feel about your body to your mental health, here are ways to make sure you’re all set to enjoy the season and the joys it has to offer you and your family.

Protect Your Hair & Skin
The sun can make your hair frail and brittle. So, protect it from the harsh rays of the sun by using a hair finishing spray that protects it. A light spray can safeguard your locks against saltwater, a pool, or in case you want to take a dip in the lake. Also, if possible, wear a hat to keep the sun completely off your hair. I also like to use a hair mask after swimming or showering like Maui Moisture Heal & Hydrate + Shea Butter Hair Mask.
Don’t forget to protect your skin if you are out and about in the sunshine. This isn’t just for summer days! Remember to always wear sunblock especially if you have pasty white skin like me. LOL I’m in a high bracket for likelihood of getting skin cancer and in my late 30s had some precancerous cells removed from my face. I’ve had a family member with melanoma that thankfully was caught in the beginning stages. Skin protection is no joke no matter how much melanin you are born with.
Check Green Skincare Products for Expiry Dates
If you have an all-natural skincare routine, that’s terrific. Your actions are helping the environment and your body not have extra unhealthy chemicals, and you can feel great about that. Make sure that they haven’t expired during the winter months. If you go to use a face cleaner and it smells funky, it’s likely time to get a new one to replace it. Otherwise, if you use an expired skincare product, you risk getting a skin irritation. I made the mistake of using a coconut oil skin care product on my face after it had gone bad and whew that smell. Thankfully, it washed right off and there was just a smidgen left in the jar. 🙂
Stretch Regularly
If you haven’t been stretching lately, today is a great day to start doing so. It will help prevent any injuries as you do summer sports such as tennis, hiking, or swimming. Try to hold each stretch for about 30 seconds if you can. Stay limber and notice how your shoulders don’t feel as tight or sore. Check out YouTube for ideas on best ways to stretch.
Find Body Confidence
In the summertime, there is pressure to look a certain way. Take a long breath and realize you’re much more than your size and shape. Surround yourself with positive people who lift you up rather than those who make comments that make you think negatively about your body. Stop comparing yourself to fake, photoshopped women on social media or movies. That’s just not real life. If your body hair embarrasses you, then you must check out laser hair removal to help you feel confident in shorts and dresses and swim suits. I had this on my bikini area a while back and it made summer time less stressful because it saved time getting ready for our pool days. When you feel comfortable, that can boost your self-confidence significantly. And remember, always remember, the media lies when it says the way you look gives you worth. Nope! “The content of your character” is your real beauty. And if someone isn’t attracted to that, why would you care what they think of you?
Reduce Stress by Gardening
If you’re noticed your stress level increase, or your partner has told you that you’re cranky lately LOL, then lowering stress for summertime is a must. Otherwise, you risk spending the season in a foul mood, which won’t be good for you or anyone who’s around you. Summer is better when you embrace the hobby of gardening, planting some seeds and caring for a range of flowers outside and inside. This is one of my favorite parts of summer. There’s just nothing like fresh tomatoes straight from the garden! It’s never to late to start gardening whether it’s on your balcony, inside your apartment, or if you are lucky enough in a backyard.
When you take care of your body, reduce stress, and do what’s best for your skin and hair, you will find that you feel amazing during the summer season. If you want an extra tip to improve your mindset, start keeping a gratitude journal and fill it out at night, listing the things that you are thankful for that happened that particular day. Feeling great will help you make the most of the season, so it can be an unforgettable one!

In laser treatment, single-wavelength light is used that does not spread and target a single point. Moreover, it can be controlled and have the ability to travel long distances. All these characteristics make the laser procedure the right choice for localized hair removal.
Superb Post. Thanks a lot for sharing this amazing post.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Agreed on body confidence. During summer, it’s so vital to keep those healthy boundaries around comments and thoughts on our own bodies and to meet ourselves at where we’re at. We have a right to eat whatever we want and enjoy ourselves!
Summer can be a challenging time, you’ve some great tips here. I usually leave it too late to start a diet – the good intensions are there in Jan/Feb and when it gets to May, I’m still thinking about it! Body confidence is huge, from body hair, to pasty skin, to spots,
we really do put ourselves under pressure! Would’t it be so much easier to just enjoy the season – easier said than done though.
Right! I think it’s all mindset like most of life. 🙂 I recently read on a blog about how to get a bikini body, they said “Buy a bikini and just put it on.” I loved that! Why do we all think we are suppose to look this way or that to feel good about ourselves?!
