The sheer volume of fad diets, bogus weight loss pills and other ‘solutions’ that claim to improve your wellbeing is such a disappointment. It would seem like far too many people no longer understand the basics of what a good diet really means. You don’t necessarily need to skip meals or deny yourself of your favorite treats if you want to achieve good health. Start eating foods that will make up the best diet for ultimate wellbeing.
Try focusing on counting the nutrients in your food rather than the calories they contain! Luckily, it doesn’t have to be as tricky as you might expect to change your diet and improve your health. Speak with your doctor or dietician about what is right with your situation before overhauling what you’re eating. Then (with their blessing) try out the below key tips that you can utilize to make a real difference in no time at all. Read on about how you can thrive by eating the right types of foods.
Say Goodbye To Processed Junk
One of the most important steps to aim to follow when adapting your diet to improve your wellbeing involves saying goodbye to processed junk. Regularly consuming food that has been mass manufactured inside a huge factory from hundreds of different unpronounceable ingredients will do nothing to benefit your health and fitness. The frequency of things like fat, sugar, salt, artificial flavours and chemical preservatives is almost always far too high.
Reducing the amount of processed food that you eat can transform the way that you feel in just a few days. About a month ago I started eating more and more raw veggies and less sugar. In a short amount of time, I was sleeping better and lost 4 pounds in a week. If you diet is primarily carbohydrates, salt, and sugar, you’ll notice a difference as soon as the old ingredients start to leave your system and more natural and healthy foods are replenishing what your body actually needs. Drivethrus, ready meals, confectionery and other unnatural options should be kicked to the curb, as each no doubt contains a wealth of harmful ingredients that you must avoid if you wish to feel full of life and vigour.
Focus On The Big 3
Making an effort to focus on the big 3 when building your plate or meal can benefit your wellbeing dramatically. The big 3 are as follows – fruits and vegetables, complex carbohydrates and lean protein. This will give you a much better chance of consuming all of the right vitamins and minerals that your mind and body need to thrive. Eating a rainbow of fresh fruit and vegetables will fill you with sustainable energy, while complex carbohydrates such as brown rice can power you through the day without the risk of plummeting blood sugar.
It’s a good idea to reach for at least 5 portions of fruit and veg each day, as this will provide you with a host of different vitamins. Eating sufficient lean protein is vital for healthy muscle growth and many other important actions performed inside the body, so you don’t forget to incorporate protein into your daily diet. Even throwing a few frozen shrimp in an air fryer can provide you with an immediate protein hit without the usual breadcrumb coating or calorific dip, so spend some time searching for a few creative and tasty recipes.
And don’t forget that protein can come from veggies and legumes as well. One of my favorites are protein shakes made from pea protein. I have a friend from high school that introduced me to Arbonne which makes the best chocolate protein shake on the market in my opinion.
The best diet for ultimate wellbeing is a wholefood diet. To be healthy we all need plenty of vitamins, complex carbohydrates, and lean protein. Steer clear from unhealthy processed and junk foods and eat foods that will make up the best diet for ultimate wellbeing.
