Today, I was speaking with a friend about regret and the power that can have in motivation. Life is so short – a blink of the eye! While my aim is to soak up and enjoy as much of it as possible, I also want to make sure to get to stick around long enough to check off my bucket list before leaving this world. No regerts and all (you know about the terrible tattoo, right? LOL)
With regard to the way I’ve lived my life, I haven’t always been particularly careful especially in my younger years. Still, I never want to look back on the time I’ve had and regret anything. In general, if money allows, I like to go for it!
Rock climbing again at 40+? Yep. Traveling to Italy while 8 months pregnant? Of course! Plus, hey, I could have ended up with a little Italian birthright bambino. My husband and my snorkling adventure with a half drunk “captain” in a very questionable tiny boat in the Caribbean? Ok, that was probably a bad idea but some how he didn’t leave us off shore!
With that said, remember that life is precious. We could have easily been left out in the ocean. Yikes! Still, it can be a challenge to balance staying safe throughout the years and making sure to be true to your wish lists of things to accomplish.

Here are a few things you can do to make sure safety is a priority:
Forever Learn New things
In life, you’re going to want to continually educate yourself. Not only can this make you an even more accomplished version of who you were a week before, it can help your brain be less likely to lose functional intelligence and overall ability. The brain needs to be continually worked on if you want it to be healthy for the long term.
It’s also wise to continually learn new things because you never know what opportunities might be right around the corner. Or you may need to get yourself out of some kind of awkward situation, and an active, intelligent mind will allow that to happen.
Surround Yourself With All The Right People
In life, you need to give yourself every single advantage in order to be happy, healthy, successful, and safe. Being around people that are positive influences can help the course of your life. If you stick around bad influences, then you’re going to end up in sticky situations or you might end up lacking ambition because of being surrounded by negativity. Choose good people, and life will be a lot better. You are the average of those you spend the most time around, so make sure they’re worth it.
Make Sure You Eat Properly Most Days
You don’t have to go around looking for the best diet and meal plans all of the time. You should ensure that you keep yourself in a good place nutritionally for at least around 75% of the time. If you’re eating well and drinking a lot of water, then your mind and body will be in a good place.
Regularly Visit Your Doctor And Check Up On Things
You’re not going to know absolutely everything about your health. You may have a good idea of what’s wrong and what’s okay, but you’ll never fully know. Professionals that have studied the body and mind will be able to tell you a lot more, however. So make sure you regularly see your healthcare specialist. It might be tedious at times, but it’s better to be safe than sorry, isn’t it? Plus, you can’t live life to the fullest when you aren’t feeling well!
Ensure You Protect Yourself Financially
Money and your livelihood both matter to live life. You could lose absolutely everything due to a legal challenge or a freak accident, so it makes sense to have insurance or other legal documents in place. It’s important to have a backup plan in regard to your money and any other significant assets you possess. An injury lawyer will be able to back you if you run into any trouble. Insurance companies will also be able to take your side and compensate you if you ever need help. Financial advisors are also gems in this life if you don’t know how to be smart with your money.
Live Your Life With A Positive Outlook At All Times
If you have an optimistic outlook on life, you’ll enjoy life so much more. You’ll also end up happier and in a better place if you have this kind of mindset. If you’re negative and pessimistic all of the time, then you’ll find faults in even the happiest of situations. This could lead to more and more problems with yourself and with others. Do what you can to be positive and happy – get into the habit; it’s worth it.
Living life can be such a fun ride! But remember to buckle up and keep your life safe throughout the years!
