The older I get, the less energy it feels like I have. If you’ve read SimpleStepsForLivingLife for a while, then you probably have read about my Vitamin D deficiency and how I was literally falling asleep while eating dinner a couple years ago. Having the energy to function seemed impossible until we figured out the deficiency was causing the problem.
Energy is an important thing to try and be aware of, and to try and work with as best as you can. If you can get this right, you are going to find that it leads to some serious improvements in terms of how you approach your life, how you feel mentally and how healthy you are physically too. In this post, we are going to look at what you can do to generate a little more bodily energy, so that you can enjoy all of these benefits and more. Any of these are going to be absolutely worth pursuing.
If you have allowed your exercise to become dampened recently, or you just feel that you should probably be doing a little more of it, then that is something that is absolutely going to help you gain more energy in your body. The trouble here is that, if you are not careful, you will find yourself finding it hard to exercise at all, because you are low on energy – but you need to exercise if you hope to have energy in the first place. At some point you have to just overcome this cycle at any point in the cycle you can.
Give Up Smoking
If you happen to smoke, then you are going to find that giving it up will help you to have much more energy in general. Smoking saps your body of energy profoundly, and much more strongly than you might assume, so it is something that you will want to try and keep on top of if you can. If you are struggling to give up smoking, you could try cutting down a little at a time. Or you might want to use an alternative like a rose gold vape pen if you prefer. However you do it, giving up smoking will probably be one of the best things you have ever done for many reasons – not least because you will have so much more energy in no time.
Eat More Vegetables
They say that you should ideally be eating a rainbow of vegetables and fruits. In other words, there should be enough of a variety of these things in your diet that you are likely to be getting as many of the minerals and nutrients that you need. Without those, you are likely to suffer a lower amount of energy, and that is going to mean that you will find many things in life so much more difficult. Make sure you are eating as many vegetables as possible, and your energy will go through the roof.
Get Your Sleep
Without sleep, your body simply can’t function as it should, so you need to make sure that you are getting plenty of sleep every night. At the very least, try to get your eight hours, but also remember that you might need more or less, depending on who you are. The important thing is to make a point of getting as much sleep as possible. I go through bouts of insomnia and it completely zaps my energy even if I take a huge nap the next day. Getting back to regular sleep just this week has helped me so much to be more productive and have mental, emotion, and physical energy to finish tasks.
