Whether it’s Christmas, Easter or any kind of holiday period, you can expect your home to go through a lot more stress than it usually does. Maybe the kids spend more time at home increasing the chances of a spill which makes keeping your home tidy a challenge. Perhaps you’re inviting friends and family over, increasing the number of dishes you have to wash. Whatever the case is, we’ve prepared some helpful tips that will assist you in keeping your home clean and tidy during a busy period.
Get things organized
Organizing your home a couple of days before the festive season starts is a great way to ensure you have a plan for when it gets busy. For instance, make sure there are clear areas to place trash and have food and drinks stashed away just in case guests drop in. Make sure there’s an out of the way area for kids to play and have a couple age appropriate toys for their ages. If guests are staying over, make sure you give them a basket for their laundry. If you will get to see friends and family over the holidays, you’ll want to be able to focus on your time together rather than these tasks.
Get a basket for cleaning products
The last thing you want is to run around collecting different cleaning products from around the house for keeping your home tidy. Make it easier on yourself by getting a basket and putting all of your cleaning products inside it. That way, you don’t need to search around the house for the cleaning products you need, and you have a handy basket to take whenever you need to clean on the go.
Remember to relax occasionally
Give yourself a break from all of the chaos and preparations to sit back and relax. Don’t forget to soak in all the memories that are being made during all this busyness. Sometimes trying to make sure and check off the list of “must do” traditions and keeping your home tidy, we miss the entire reasons for the holiday we are celebrating. Don’t lose sight of that and more importantly, don’t lose sight of your sanity!
