In life, it’s very easy to get sidetracked. Find a career, get married, have a child, and all of a sudden you realize that you have very little time for ‘you’ left. That being said, you don’t have to have any of these things in your life to still struggle with survival and the very daily experience of being a human being. If only we were supplied with an instruction manual at birth for how to be a person. Of course, this would take away all of the achievement and wisdom we could learn for ourselves, but wouldn’t it be handy to have a reference to read over when we need help?!
So how can you make wellness your priority? Is this an immediate decision? Or does it take time to get there? And, perhaps more importantly, what does that even mean? Well, anything can be improved in life, and our wellness is certainly one of those definitions.
Here’s some ideas to start with…
Get Enough Sleep
Raise your hand if your an insomniac or are guilty of binge watching TV series. Getting enough sleep is essential for us to live healthily and to recover from each day, but it can also help you keep your positive habits up. It turns out those who suffer from poor sleep are often those more likely to make rash and impulsive decisions because your brain is unable to work through the long term ramifications that easily. This means that if you’re trying to lose weight, or meditate often, or simply get out in nature more, you’re less likely to make those decisions when overly tired. This is why sleep is a priority, and sleep hygiene is a must. Invest in new sheets, stop looking at your phone or TV an hour before bed, and try to relaxing as much as you can before bedtime.Getting enough sleep is important and thoroughly relevant to your personal health care.
Manage Your Time
It’s important to manage your time as it relates to wellness. Make sure you fit this into your schedule. Do you wake up in the morning, turn on your computer and browse social media on your phone? Or do you wake up, perform a few light stretches, go outside with a cup of coffee, and come in with a light breakfast? Take time to pray for ten minutes before you leave for work. Give yourself a beginning of the day break and work on a fun puzzle or read part of a book. Personal mental health maintenance is all about finding the time in which to perform it.
Diet & Supplements
It’s important to care for your diet and the supplements you take. Made by Hemp is known for offering many wonderful products in this capacity. It could be that you ensure you take enough Vitamin D, Zinc and Magnesium each day to help your brain fire appropriately and to manage your energies in the best possible light. Diet is so essential, because we literally are what we eat in the long run. Your eating habits may seem somewhat insignificant, but when it comes to your energy levels, you gut biome and more, it’s essential to understand how to make the best decisions.
I hope you can make wellness your priority. Like I always reiterate on this blog, “If you don’t take care of yourself, how are you going to take care of others?” I never mean be selfish but just always remember making sure you are healthy is not at all a selfish thing.
