I chose the Vitamin home health test because back in January I was having trouble staying awake… I mean falling asleep at dinner. I went to the doctor and found out I had Vitamin D deficiency(like around 12 on a 30-80 normal range). I started a vitamin regimen and got my levels back up and have plenty of energy now but was curious to see what my level is now. LetsGetChecked.com was so kind to offer me the Vitamin Test to review.

I really appreciate that being able to monitor the kit every step of the way is available. Unfortunately for me, right after I took my test I got very distracted with my kids, parents were in town, and recovering from surgery. So a week after I packed it up and sent it back in the prepaid packaging, I realized, “Wait a minute… I haven’t heard about my test. OH, I FORGOT TO ACTIVATE MY TEST.” Arrrgghhghgh!
My Results
I logged in hoping it wasn’t too late but the test has to be activated as soon as you collect the sample and send it back and well, it had been almost 2 weeks at this point. So the bad news is since I activated my test so late the sample was no good and rejected. UPDATE: I assumed wrong!
The good news is that I can give a first hand review regarding the customer service at LetsGetChecked.com. I sent a message using the website contact form at 1:12am on a Friday morning (awww my insomnia). I got a reply at 3:35am. Yes, you read that right 3:35am. I would have been impressed at just a reply in 24 hours but 2 hours later at 3 in the morning. WOW! So they aren’t kidding about customer service 24/7.
So back to my home health test results… I just assumed my test was rejected but today I got a call from the medical support team. Remember the board certified staff that LetsGetChecked.com has? Turns out my sample was able to be tested and turns out my vitamin D level had dipped below the normal range. I had been feeling extra tired lately and just assumed it was because of my surgery Aug 14th. Hmm… I sure do a lot of assuming; don’t I?!
The good range is between 30-80 but mine is at 25.4. She discussed the symptoms of having low Vitamin D, said to start back on my Vitamin regimen, gave me ideas of foods to eat to boast my Vitamin D(I hadn’t thought of fish before), said I should continue with my Vitamin D intake during winter months, and to retest within 3-6 months. After talking with LetsGetChecked staff regarding my results they were released to my account online and below is what a test result page looks like. I like that the results are in green or red for my test. I’m assuming that’s how all test results look… well, there I go assuming again! lol
Ok, see where it says, “View” with the down arrow? This explains the results more. Plus there are options to speak with a nurse.
