Wake up and get ready each day even if you work from home to help feel your best. Hop in the shower, change your clothes, and put on some makeup. Groom yourself by combing your hair, trimming your nails, and learning ear cleaning best practices. You’ll feel more like yourself and ready to seize the day when you get out of bed and get ready instead of putting on your sweatpants and avoiding looking in the mirror. You’ll not only feel more attractive but will be ready to see people if you have to run out and do errands or visitors stop by unannounced. By taking care of yourself physically it can remind yourself that you have value and you are worth it!
You can start your day off right when you nourish your body and mind by eating a healthy breakfast. Feel your best each day by waking up and making a healthy meal that will provide you with natural energy and motivation to tackle your to-do list. Eggs or nutritious smoothies are excellent choices to consume that will give you the fuel your mind and body need to be productive for an extended period. Wake up early to give yourself plenty of time to make your breakfast and eat it before you head out to work.
Get Fresh Air
Another tip to help you feel your best each day is to get outside and get some fresh air. Soak up the sunshine and the beauty that surrounds you when you step outdoors. There are many activities you can do outside by yourself or with others, such as gardening, walking or hiking, visiting a park, and playing with your kids. Maybe you can’t get around that well? Then opt for outdoor dining or simply sitting on your front porch or in your driveway. You’ll likely find that being outdoors is a chance to clear your head and reduce your stress as well. You’ll return home feeling relaxed and can help you be ready to focus on your next task.
Make Time for Yourself
It’s also essential that you set aside “me” time in your day if you want to feel your best. You’re likely busy with working and taking care of your family and may never think about your own needs. However, you’ll find that you’re happier and healthier when you make taking care of yourself and your health a priority. I have more than one friend that wakes up 30 minutes before everyone else in the home to have time for prayer or meditation and just to enjoy quiet time. It may be that you enjoy reading books, exercising, or reflecting in your downtime. You can feel great when you focus on self-care and rest and take breaks away from your daily to-dos once in a while.
Caring for yourself is important. If you start to neglect your basic needs, it is hard to help others. Try to implement these ideas and be sure to find time for yourself in the business of taking care of others.
