We all want to feel younger beyond our years, right?
The one thing that we all have in common is that we’re all aging and we will all eventually breath our last breath. Although we can’t know when that will happen, we’re definitely all in the same boat when it comes down to it. It’s important to try things that can help you with finding your youth to keep active and spry.
Here are some tips to stay young beyond your years.
Remember that age is just a number
It’s always important to remember that your age is just a number and it’s often said that you’re as young as you feel. So with that in mind, try to have that attitude. Yes, you may be getting older but it’s all about how you feel on the inside both in body and mind. When you have that switch in attitude towards your age, you’ll like feel a lot different as a result. There’s a lot of negative stigmas that are attached when it comes to age and that can often be the reason why many of us get embarrassed to admit how old we are.
Start living life without the numbers and try to instead focus on how to make yourself feel more youthful.
Look after your body
It’s important to look after your body properly because there can often be many times in which we abuse our bodies. That can be through alcohol or smoking, gaining too much weight or losing too much of it. You want to try and keep your body’s health always on your mind and to make conscious efforts in keeping yourself both healthy in mind and body.
Even though your body may have more aches and pains, your mind might be living in your twenties and that’s perfectly fine. You may want to look at getting treatments on your body too, like visiting a chiropractor to help with body pain.
Keep yourself involved with activities
There are moments in life where you start to back down from doing things you may have done earlier on in your life. The problem with that is that it tends to accelerate your aging even more so. In your mind, you may have given up on your body when your body still isn’t ready to let go of those things. So try to keep yourself involved with activities. Obviously, be aware of your limits and what your body can do but it’s still possible to do most things that you did in your 20s, in your 50s or 60s. Making sure you are exercising whether you’re an ultra athlete or like me prefer to walk for exercise is great for your body and your brain (even if it’s slowly, oh so slowly but at least I’m moving lol).
Give yourself a purpose
One of the best ways to live a life and stay youthful is to have purpose and one of my favorite ways to feel like I’m making a difference in my little spot in the world is to help others. This could help you feel more youthful and, well, happy. You can do this in many ways and how you help others can change depending on your circumstances and stages in life. Meaning and purpose in life are fundamental to human beings. Having a purpose can be as simple as making sure to call friends every once in a while to check in with them and encourage them. It can mean creating art or crafts to share with others. Maybe you enjoy volunteering; there are always places in need for this. If you have any family, you could help them with household chores, go out to dinner every once in a while or make them dinner, hanging out with neighbors so they are not lonely, or driving someone without a car to doctors appointments. Purpose can also be found in a spiritual life; for myself, I believe in Jesus and follow Christianity . He helps guide me and realize that this life is fleeting as is youth. But I can stay active mentally, physically, and emotionally with purpose and it does somewhat keep me young. (Although the idea of young keeps moving on the age scale along with my age LOL)
Challenge your brain
Challenging your brain can be a great way of keeping your body and mind youthful. Make sure you’re doing things that do this like puzzles and crosswords for example. Play games and test your knowledge everyday by perhaps learning something new where you can.
With these tips, you’re going to feel and have a mindset that’s a lot younger than before. Do things that bring out that youthful side of you and forget about your age!
