Finding ways to boost your confidence is a must. Confidence can affect every aspect of your life – from your interpersonal relationships, to your job prospects, to the way you view yourself. Therefore, it is important o discover new ways to boost your confidence through self-care and what could be better than doing this through proper self-care techniques. Fortunately, no matter who you are, we can all practice self-care.
However, if you are not in the habit of doing this, perhaps you need a little change in attitude to help you along the way:
Confidence is all about the way we think. Unconfident people tend to be pessimists and think they cannot do something, whereas confident people believe they can do something, and more than that, they actually put this into practice. To help change the way you think, first focus on the things you are grateful for in life. It could be anything from beautiful hair to a loving mother. It doesn’t matter. Just write down a few things every day that make you happy. Also, if you find yourself dwelling on something negative, such as you can’t do something or you don’t like this or that about yourself, instead focus on what you can do to improve it, or focus on something else entirely like what you can do well, like painting. Swapping negative for positives is the first step, and it may be difficult at first, but by concentration and a strong will, you will be able to think positively.
Use the Word ‘No’
Lack of confidence sometimes comes from the fact that we feel used and unappreciate. People-pleasers may suffer a lot in this regard. They very often go out of their way to appease other people without much in return. They become overworked, stressed, and feel out of control in their own lives. If this is you, you need to start saying no. The next time someone asks for that favor, say no, in as polite a way as you see fit. It will be difficult at first, but it will feel amazing. You will have bought more time for yourself, reduced your stress levels, and boosted your confidence.
Look After you Body
How you look and feel in your body is definitely connected to how confident you feel. Most of us know that we should be eating better, exercising, and sleeping more, for example, but we just cannot do it for some reason. However, if you are determined to be more confident, you will find ways to do this. Looking after your body actually starts in your mind.
While at the supermarket, do not buy those fatty or sugary foods, but healthier alternatives. If there is no cake in the fridge, you can not eat it, can you? Also, try and incorporate at least 20 minutes of exercise a day. Perhaps you have always wanted to try some kind of martial art like Shaolin Kung Fu, well why not start a class. Marshall arts can help you boost your confidence all on their own. You will feel less vulnerable, and you will be getting fitter as well.
There are so many ways to help yourself boost your confidence through self-care. You can either be your biggest critic or your biggest supporter. It’s feel confidence is you’re listening to a mean voice in your mind. Think of how you would treat your friends and treat yourself that way too. Always remember to be kind to yourself.
